Welcome to Sarandipity Crafts! Please take some time to browse our website and blog for whatever you may be looking for. Sarandipity is defined as the act of finding something valuable or delightful when you are not looking for it. So look around you never know what you might find that your weren’t looking for.

My name is Sara Dee and I run and operate this website and blog. The name of this website is part of my name Sara-n-Dipity Crafts. I have been involved and loved all kinds of crafts since I was a young child. I remember my mom teaching me how to make the potholders with the fabric loops. It was great fun. My sisters and I would have those colored loops all over the house by the time we were done. As I got older I tried more crafts. When I was in Campfire girls our leader taught us to knit. I was so excited to make something I could use and admire at home.  I can remember experimenting with all kinds of craft mediums. I tried things like sewing, paper crafts, paper mache, weaving, painting, ceramics, crocheting, and many other crafts in Campfire girls and church groups.

I have always found that crafts of all kinds are very relaxing and soothing  and generally make a person feel good about ones self. I have always enjoyed making things for family and friends as gifts to give at holidays and birthdays. It is like giving of a piece of yourself when you give someone something that is homemade. There is nothing better then watching the expression on someones face when they open something that you made yourself.

Among my favorite crafts are crocheting, knitting, and card making.  If I’m going to crochet I like to crochet afghans, doilies, baby items and anything that just sounds fun to make. If I’m in the mood to knit then I might make a sweater, afghan, or purse. I love to create greeting cards of all different kinds. I have found that even though we live in a world of electronics that people still like to know that you are thinking of them and receive a greeting card in the regular mail or a special occasion card on their birthday or anniversary.

In this website I plan to give you tips and instructions on several different kinds of crafts. I love to talk about crafts so that won’t be too hard. I will tell you about what projects I am working on as well provide pictures for those projects. If there is a topic or craft that you would like to know about please let me know. For example I have some experience at tatting but I find that not many people are interested in this type of craft these days as it is a older craft that isn’t done much anymore.

If you would like to post topics, comments and images about what you are working on please feel free to do that. I always love to know what others are working on and how their projects are progressing. If you ever have any questions about the projects that you are working on please feel free to do that too.

Well I guess I will see you all over on the blog. Let’s get crafting and have some fun!

Faithfully,

Sara Dee
