I am holding two strands together using a turquoise yarn for one strand and also a strand of Fun Fur. It is turning out very nice and it will be very warm. This scarf will have a hole stitched into it for the scarf end to feed through to fasten around the neck. It will be very lovely.<a href="http://sarandipitycrafts.smallbizdezines.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/01/knitted_hat.jpg"><img class="alignright size-medium wp-image-330" title="knitted_hat" src="http://sarandipitycrafts.smallbizdezines.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/01/knitted_hat-300x225.jpg" alt="" width="126" height="95" /></a></p>
<p>I am also making a hat to go along with this scarf that will match. The hat will done holding the two strands together again for two inches to make the brim of the hat. I will then drop the fun fur strand and continue the rest of the hat with the turquoise colored yarn. This hat pattern should compliment the scarf very nicely. I will add a picture of the scarf here shortly so you can see how it works up.</p>
<p>Talk to you all later,</p>

<script type="text/javascript" src="http://www.google.com/buzz/api/button.js"></script></div></div><p>If you are new to <a class="zem_slink" title="Knitting" rel="wikipedia" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Knitting">knitting</a> or would like to learn to knit I would suggest trying something simple on larger <a class="zem_slink" title="Knitting needle" rel="wikipedia" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Knitting_needle">knitting needles</a> to start. A scarf or dishcloth are both good beginner projects.</p>
<p>I found a nice beginner scarf pattern at <a href="http://knitting-patterns-techniques.suite101.com/article.cfm/colorful-homespun-scarf-to-knit---free-knitting-pattern">Colorful Homespun Scarf to Knit &#8211; Free Knitting Pattern</a> made with Lion Brand Homespun <a class="zem_slink" title="Yarn" rel="wikipedia" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yarn">yarn</a>. This yarn is very soft and makes up into a very nice scarf. This pattern uses the <a class="zem_slink" title="Basic knitted fabrics" rel="wikipedia" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Basic_knitted_fabrics">garter stitch</a>. If you aren&#8217;t familiar with the garter stitch watch here on a video.</p>

<p>Please view the video below if you need to refresh yourself on how to cast on to start a knitting project.</p>
<p><object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" width="480" height="385" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=6,0,40,0"><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" /><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always" /><param name="src" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/8wUPQDYtoy0&amp;hl=en_US&amp;fs=1&amp;color1=0x402061&amp;color2=0x9461ca" /><param name="allowfullscreen" value="true" /><embed type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="480" height="385" src="http://www.youtube.com/v/8wUPQDYtoy0&amp;hl=en_US&amp;fs=1&amp;color1=0x402061&amp;color2=0x9461ca" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object></p>
<p>If you would like to try a smaller project you could try a dishcloth for your kitchen that would match your decor try this pattern.</p>
<p>This make a 6&#215;6 inches Diagonal Washcloth using Worsted Weight 100% Cotton and needles #7US. This is a simple project to make for a beginner when you are first learning to knit.</p>
<p>Cast on 1 stitch and K3 in that stitch, knitting front and back of the stitch.</p>
<p>1st row and every odd row, K even across.<br />
Next row and every even row, make on <a class="zem_slink" title="Increase (knitting)" rel="wikipedia" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Increase_%28knitting%29">increase</a> in the 1st and last stitch of the row, knitting front and back of the stitch, until 39 stitches on the needle (or more if you want a bigger <a class="zem_slink" title="Textile" rel="wikipedia" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Textile">cloth</a>)</p>
<p>Then, K2tog at the beginning and at the end of every even row until 1 stitch remain on the needle.</p>
<p><a class="zem_slink" title="Binding off" rel="wikipedia" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Binding_off">Cast off</a></p>
<p>Let us know how it comes out which ever one you try,</p>
